ABSTRACT
Abstract Lithium batteries (LBs) are developed tremendously owing to their excellent energy density as well cyclic persistence, exhibiting promising applications from portable devices e‐transportation and grid fields. However, with the ever‐increasing demand for intelligent wearable electronics, more requests focused on high safety, good durability, satisfied reliability of LBs. The self‐healing route, which can simulate ability organic organisms repair damage recover initial function through its intrinsic vitality, is believed be an efficient strategy alleviate unavoidable physical or chemical fatigue issues LBs, beneficial realization above mentioned requests. In this review, applicability development materials summarized in electrodes, electrolytes, interfacial layers recent years, focusing exploring feasibility different strategies discussing advantages disadvantages existing parts batteries, indicating possible research directions beginners who interested field. Finally, critical challenges future opportunities prospected.
