More than Carbazole Derivatives Activate Room Temperature Ultralong Organic Phosphorescence of Benzoindole Derivatives

ABSTRACT
The mechanism of carbazole (Cz)-based phosphors is still unclear since its isomer (1H-benzo[f]indole, Bd) discovered in 2020. Herein, the successful synthesis four Cz/Bd derivatives reported, named as 2CzBr, CzBdBr, 2BdBr, and 3Bd, general for their ultralong organic phosphorescence (UOP) provided. Bd give double groups phosphorescence, including short-wavelength with a short lifetime at long wavelengths, assigned to neutral molecules radical cations, respectively. Interestingly, doped poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) films CzBdBr 2BdBr show photo-activated room temperature. activation 'UOP involves three factors: 1) well dispersion matrix limited amount, 2) generation cations 3) matrix-mediated stabilization cations. function Cz activate derivatives' UOP could be replaced by photo-activation or using other matrixes. Significantly, application PMMA practiced gives an exciting result that high-resolution QR code reversibly printed erased on film. This research has expanded understanding field it may pave new way development.
