ABSTRACT
Abstract Directional droplet transport on smart surfaces with superwettabilities arouse extensive attentions from both the scientific community and industry due to exciting applications in healthcare, environmental protection, energy harvesting. The past decades have witnessed progress achievements mechanism disclosure, device preparation, applied investigation. Herein, various schemes are summarized, such as electrohydrodynamic strategy, self‐propelled anisotropic surfaces, gravity driven slippery lubricant impregnated porous (SLIPS), other engineering strategies. Accordingly, basic of manipulation, devices configuration, key features presented. recent cutting‐edge directional transport, including digital microfluidics, electric harvesting, fag/water collection, oil‐water separation also reviewed. At end, current challenges future perspectives this field discussed.
