ABSTRACT
Abstract There is a growing demand for biosensors that are reliable, accurate, rapid, and cost effective. Appropriately functionalized silicon nanowires (SiNWs) have offered an alternative to the gold standards of enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) polymerase chain reaction (PCR)‐based detection proteins DNA, respectively, by offering rapid label‐free accurate analytes. However, major barrier limiting progression this technology fabricating uniform functional (NWs) biosensing electrically contacting these NWs. Preliminary results presented demonstrating feasibility novel class SiNW‐based biosensor, which alleviates issues. The biosensor here uses solar cell (SiNW‐SC) as transducing element. It demonstrated SiNW‐SCs can be modified anchoring monoclonal antibodies specific prostate‐specific antigen (PSA) surface SiNW‐SCs. This modification allows increase in binding PSA SiNW structures, causes short‐circuit density when exposed light PSA. paves way development using
