ABSTRACT
Abstract In this article, a multifunctional and tunable radar absorber which can achieve dynamical modulation of absorbing frequency, bandwidth, amplitude is presented. Such composed graphene capacitor layer an active metasurface layer. By controlling the impedance characteristic each through external bias voltages, not only ultrawideband electromagnetic (EM) performance, but also be switched to narrowband absorption mode, its further adjusted at above operation modes. Both simulated experimental results have demonstrated that −10‐dB reflection bandwidth ranging from 3.55 19.6 GHz realized, average dynamically tuned between −3.8 −11.5 dB. addition, by changing also, respectively, switch −10 dB 3.5−11.1 10.9−18.9 GHz, where larger dynamic range obtained. The equivalent circuit model employed explain mechanism analyzing matching characteristics. This hybrid design approach effectively expand EM reconfigurable functionalities current absorber, may open novel way application in microwave frequencies.
