ABSTRACT
Abstract It is shown that a phase change material (PCM), germanium telluride (GeTe), when integrated into subwavelength layered optical cavity, can produce widely tunable reflective colors. the crystallization temperature (Tx) of GeTe dependent on film thickness for thin films less than ≈20 nm, which exploited color tuning. Four colors from same physical structure are demonstrated by electrical heating, through novel and thermal engineering stack includes two layers with only single joule heater element. The selective sensitivity to incident light angle low polarization dependence, as well static power consumption this device make it good candidate potential consumer electronics applications.
