ABSTRACT
Abstract Enzyme membrane reactors (EMRs) are becoming increasingly interesting for application in bioconversion processes food processing, pharmaceutics, biorefinery and wastewater treatment. Integrating the highly efficient enzymatic reaction with selectable separation technology, EMRs able to reduce product inhibition, improve stability of enzyme, increase number cycles sustainably separate products from biotransformation solutions. Generally, EMRs, enzymes can be either free solution, immobilized on an additional carrier or directly in/on a porous structure membrane, which system enzyme (EIM) is relatively simple most widely applied method. The EIM not only facilitates recycling but also many cases additionally enhances properties such as viability.
