ABSTRACT
Abstract Burning rate of solid propellants can be effectively improved by adding catalysts and using smaller size ammonium perchlorate (AP). Although few reports, the exploration changing AP primary particles is great significance for improving combustion performance. Here, taking Co‐bipy as an example, potential advantages such materials decomposition are reported. Due to existence NO 3 − combined with oxygen rich environment provided AP, structural self‐transformation from micronrods nanoparticles quickly realized during heating process. More importantly, when decomposes, it play role “scalpel” in situ cut particles. Results show that high‐temperature Co‐bipy/AP occurs at 305.8 °C, which 137.5 °C lower than pure AP. Catalytic mechanism discussed IR TG‐IR, CoO increase content reactive species weaken N–H bond, realizing rapid oxidation NH . Eventually, behavior cutting tested. This interesting catalyst structure not only realize influence on but also perform a positive function process propellants, opening adhesive interface.
