Genau hingeschaut: Gewöhnliche UV/Vis- und TEM-Methoden sind wegen Ensemblemittelungen Projektionseffekten wenig geeignet, den Mechanismus des Nanopartikelwachstums aufzuklären. Einzelpartikelbeugungsspektren wurden nun genutzt, um das Aufwachsen von Gold auf Gold/Polystyrol-Nanopartikeln zu untersuchen.
