ABSTRACT
Abstract In this study, it was investigated to increase the lipid yield of microalgae Schizochytrium sp., by applying different cell disruption methods; acid treatment with HCl, osmotic shock, enzyme applications and ultrasonic homogenizer were combined Bligh Dyer or Soxhlet methods. method, fatty yields decreased due inability method break down cells sufficiently high temperature application. Enzyme application (hemicellulase at 55°C for 2 days) prior (BDE) found more efficient in terms DHA compared other BDE process increased 21.72 ± 0.74% content 19.25 0.09% from 18.87 0.4% 18.41 0.20% control (BDC). Major saturated acids 14:0, 16:0, 18:0, 24:0 highest 16:0 (palmitic acid). Lipid health indices such as n‐6/n‐3, PUFA/SFA, atherogenicity index, thrombogenicity index hypocholesterolemic/hypercholesterolemic ratios almost favorable. With appropriate extraction methods studied provide an economical environmental friendly suggestion future studies be used areas food, feed cosmetics grade. It concluded that most convenient among owing yield.
