ABSTRACT
Abstract Introduction Treatment response at an early stage of schizophrenia is considerable value with regard to future management the disorder; however, there are currently no biomarkers that can inform physicians about likelihood response. Objects We aim develop and validate regional brain activity derived from functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) as a potential signature predict treatment in schizophrenia. Methods Amplitude low‐frequency fluctuation (ALFF) was measured start first/single episode resulting hospitalization. Inpatients were included principal dataset ( n = 79) replication 44). Two groups healthy controls 87; 106) also recruited for each dataset. The clinical assessed discharge hospital. predictive capacity normalized ALFF patients by controls, ratio , evaluated based on diagnostic tests correlates. Results In dataset, responders exhibited increased baseline left postcentral gyrus/inferior parietal lobule relative non‐responders. before significantly higher than non‐responders p < 0.001). area under receiver operating characteristic curve 0.746 distinguish non‐responders, sensitivity, specificity, accuracy 72.7%, 68.6%, 70.9%, respectively.
