ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common autoimmune disease. Progressive depletion of brain and spinal cord tissue appears at onset Several studies have shown increased size ventricles decreases in area corpus callosum width brain. Other important symptoms this disease are cognitive, learning, memory disorders. Aim The aim study was to compare morphometric, histological, functional changes demyelination model both sexes. Materials methods In experimental study, male female Wistar rats were studied four groups. Demyelination induced by injection ethidium bromide ventricular region. chronic effect on spatial memory, movement, coordination investigated using Morris Water Maze (MWM), clinical balance beam tests, respectively. Myelin degradation, cell death neurogenesis estimated Luxol Fast Blue staining immunohistochemistry (Caspase‐3 Nestin markers). addition, morphometric findings recorded for hippocampus (weight, volume, length, width). Result time distance index decreased residence target quarter water maze test ( p < .001). It also increases neuromuscular modified neurological severity score .01). caspase‐3 .05) expression .001), which directly related extent damage. Conclusion This showed an interaction between hippocampal structural networks explaining learning early stages MS.
