ABSTRACT
Abstract Microreactor technology can help to reduce the time market new drugs. It was applied produce ( Z )‐5‐benzylidenethiazolidine‐2,4‐dione, a heterocyclic intermediate in synthesis of various Ethanol optimum solvent and piperidine best catalyst batch process. The continuous/microreactor process exhibited much better performance than productivity, which strongly influenced by temperature, reached maximum at 160 °C using methanol as solvent. A kinetic/thermodynamic study indicated that reaction followed second‐order model allowed estimating its main thermodynamic parameters. product recovery protocol finally proposed. microreactor proved an efficient alternative reactor scaling up production active pharmaceutical ingredients.
