ABSTRACT
Abstract Spirocyclic silicon alkoxides were synthesized by reaction of Si(OMe) 4 with derivatives salicylic alcohol and studied in situ differential scanning calorimetry regard to twin polymerization (TP). Both, thermally induced proton‐assisted TP gave nanostructured hybrid materials composed a phenolic resin silica. Carbonization subsequent treatment HF (aq) resulted microporous carbon, whereas oxidation air provided mesoporous DFT calculations performed obtain more detailed insight into the first steps support hypothesis reactivity scale based on steric electronic features silicon‐containing precursors (twin monomers). The calculated barriers for initial are qualitatively accordance Hammett constants substituents at salicylate moiety. This result offers simple method predict monomers.
