ABSTRACT
Summary Purpose The Republic of the Philippines has recently enacted Universal Health Care Law, which mandates Department (DOH) to operationalize evidence‐based clinical practice guideline (CPG) development. As a baseline foregoing task, aim this study was appraise methodological quality CPGs previously developed and currently being disseminated in Philippines. A multimethod search for implemented. were independently evaluated using modified version Knowledge Management Plus CPG appraisal tool. Findings Eighty‐seven included appraisal. Majority implemented processes ensure validity, ie, consideration patient groups, management options, benefits, harms (99%), indicated strength their recommendations (89%). Of 87 CPGs, 20 (23%) considered equity development process. process differed among with varying degrees utilization GRADE methodology (52%), disclosure funding sources (72%), engagement technical support external body (3%).
