ABSTRACT
Abstract Head‐mounted displays (HMDs) allow the visualization of virtual content and change view perspectives in a reality (VR). Besides entertainment purposes, such also find application augmented reality, VR training, or tele‐robotic systems. The quality visual feedback plays key role for interaction performance setups. In last years, high‐end computers led to reduction simulator sickness regarding nausea symptoms, while new technologies are required further reduce oculomotor disorientation symptoms. so‐called vergence–accommodation conflict (VAC) standard stereoscopic prevents intense use 3D displays, so far. VAC describes mismatch between projected image optical distance HMD screen. This can be solved by using with correct focal distance. light‐field this study provides close‐to‐continuous depth high resolution enabling highly natural visualization. paper presents first user‐study on comfort close‐to‐market based complex tasks. results provide evidence that technology brings clear benefits user terms physical comfort, workload, matching performance.
