ABSTRACT
The h-index is an objective and easily calculable measure that can be used to evaluate both the relevance amount of scientific contributions individual author. Our was examine how academic otolaryngologists relates with rank.A descriptive correlational design for analysis otolaryngologists' h-indices using Scopus database.H-indices faculty members from 50 otolaryngology residency programs were calculated database, data organized by rank. Additionally, departmental chairpersons among different specialties performed.H-index values higher increased rank levels assistant professor, associate professor. There no significant difference between professors department within otolaryngology. H-indices in compared significantly different, suggesting use this metric may not appropriate comparing fields.The a reliable tool quantifying productivity This useful when evaluating decisions regarding advancement departments.
