ABSTRACT
We investigate the clinicopathologic and treatment factors associated with use of postoperative radiation therapy (PORT) its effect on overall survival (OS) for patients oral cavity verrucous carcinoma (VC).Retrospective cohort study.A retrospective study National Cancer Database (NCDB) from 2006 to 2015 was performed. Multivariable logistic regression used identify independent predictive PORT. Cox Regression propensity score analyses were evaluate PORT mortality.A total 356 adult primary VC who underwent definitive surgical resection identified. A 10.7% followed by Variables included distance hospital per 10 miles (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 0.81 [95% confidence interval (CI), 0.70-0.95]) stage III-IV disease (aOR, 12.13 23.92, respectively). analysis indicated no evidence benefit in undergoing compared surgery alone hazard 1.50 [0.74-3.05], P = .23). Propensity also showed OS (P .41).Variables multivariable closer disease. No clear identified either or analysis. These results suggest that negative margins may be optimal VC.4 Laryngoscope, 132:1953-1961, 2022.
