ABSTRACT
Abstract A high‐gain antenna using a single layer metamaterial (MTM) superstrate with zero refractive index ( n ) is proposed. To enhance the magnitude and flatness property of gain at same time, effectively behavior used, which gathers wave emitted from microstrip patch collimates it toward normal direction antenna. Both simulation measurement results provide that realized proposed increased by about 5 dB no more than 1.5 in predicted frequency band, where MTM designed to have refraction. Consequently, high flat can be easily obtained our superstrate. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
