ABSTRACT
A fundamental element of acute lung injury (ALI) is the inflammatory response, which can affect entire respiratory system, including tract and alveoli. Berberine has gained attention because its anti‐inflammatory effects. Nuclear factor‐erythroid 2‐related factor 2 (Nrf2) endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress are involved in injury. Nrf2 also acts as a protein kinase‐like ER kinase (PERK) substrate heart disease. Therefore, this study investigated effect berberine against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)‐induced ALI role PERK‐mediated Nrf2/HO‐1 signaling axis. promoted nuclear translocation phosphorylation vitro. After LPS stimulation, was further enhanced, whereas (IL‐6 IL‐8) release reactive oxygen species generation were significantly decreased. effectively alleviated by reducing edema neutrophil infiltration. reduced histopathological changes via inhibition activation signaling.
