ABSTRACT
To review the prenatal complications, management, and perinatal outcome in pregnancies complicated by placental chorioangioma (PCA). Cases of PCA diagnosed prenatally as part a prospective, multicentric program for fetal diagnosis therapy were identified. All cases evaluated with color flow imaging. In latter study, three-dimensional sonography, including power-Doppler angiography, was also used to study vascular pattern tumor. Information on maternal demographics, sonographic findings, pregnancy antenatal intervention, obtained reviewing medical records or contacting referring obstetricians. 5-year period from January 1997 December 2001, 11 prenatally. Nine singleton two twin gestations. Among nine occurring singletons, five associated polyhydramnios (n = 3), oligohydramnios 2), growth restriction hydrops fetalis due cardiac failure 1). Overall, fetuses died, one monochorionic twins complications twin-twin transfusion syndrome. Four delivered before 35 weeks. four pregnancies, no detected spite continuous vascularity mass three those cases. is an increased risk most common being preterm delivery. selected cases, amniodrainage allows continuation improved outcome. Fetuses who develop are at highest death, limited therapeutic options these available. Close follow-up advised, even findings time diagnosis.
