ABSTRACT
Tissue slices from sugar beet (Beta vulgaris altissima) containing high tyrosinase activity were coupled to an amperometric oxygen electrode. The resulting plant tissue-based sensor was applied to determine tyrosine in the range between 30 and 900 μmol/l. The response of the sensor to various phenolic compounds was tested.
