Fragility fractures of the pelvis (FFP) are a clinical entity with an increasing frequency. Indications for and type surgical treatment still matter debate. This retrospective study presents critically analyses results operative 140 patients FFP.Level-I trauma center.Demographic data, comorbidities, FFP-classification, stabilization (percutaneous (P-group) versus open procedure (O-group)), length hospital stay (LoS), general in-hospital complications, surgery-related living environment before admission, mobility destination at discharge were retracted from medical radiographic records. Patients asked participating in survey by telephone call about their quality life. SF-8 Physical Component Score (PCS) Mental (MCS) calculated as well Parker Mobility (PMS) Numeric Rating Scale (NRS).Mean age was 77.4 years 89.3% female. 92.1% presented one comorbidity, 49.3% two or more comorbidities. Median 18 days, postoperative 12 days. 99 (70.7%) received percutaneous procedure, 41 (29.3%) open. O-group had significantly longer LoS than P-group (p = 0.009). Surgical fixation should obtain adequate stability, yet less invasive possible. advantages limitations different techniques have evaluated prospective studies.
