ABSTRACT
Abstract Key message We identified marker-trait associations for key faba bean agronomic traits and genomic signatures of selection within a global germplasm collection. Faba ( Vicia L.) is high-protein grain legume crop with great potential sustainable protein production. However, little known about the genetics underlying trait diversity. In this study, we used 21,345 high-quality SNP markers to genetically characterize 2678 genotypes. performed genome-wide association studies using seven-parent-MAGIC population detected 238 significant linked 12 importance. Sixty-five these were stable across multiple environments. Using non-redundant diversity panel 685 accessions from 52 countries, three subpopulations differentiated by geographical origin 33 regions subjected strong diversifying between subpopulations. found that associated differentiation northern southern explained proportion variance in population, suggesting some targets during breeding. Our findings point important selection, facilitating genomics-based
