ABSTRACT
Infection after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACL-R) is a rare but severe complication. Despite an increase in articles published on this topic over the last decade, solid data to optimized diagnostic and therapeutic measures are scarce. For reason, European Bone Joint Society (EBJIS) for Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery Arthroscopy (ESSKA) collaborated order develop recommendations diagnosis management of infections ACL-R. The aim workgroup was perform review literature provide practical guidance healthcare professionals involved ACL-R.An international recruited predefined clinical dilemmas regarding MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Library Scopus databases were searched evidence support recommended answers each dilemma.The divided into two articles. first covers etiology, prevention, antimicrobial treatment septic arthritis following ACL-R primarily aimed at infectious disease specialists.
