ABSTRACT
Abstract This study investigates the synergy between additive manufacturing (AM) technologies and computational design strategies in jewellery how that can be successfully exploited to extend innovation field further. A case called Ecdysis, a bioinspired collection, is presented. dedicated algorithm has been developed described detail. allows for exploitation of shape functional complexity dimensions allowed by AM control printability generated concept. Shape are mimic beauty dynamism snakes’ slithering mechanism. At same time, starting from algorithm, multiple digital models physical prototypes have fabricated, leveraging material extrusion, vat photopolymerisation, powder bed fusion processes. further development step collection thus confirms versatility both proposed approach jewellery. Therefore, paper demonstrates unique wearing experiences created uniqueness simultaneously preserved democratised deepening strategies.
