ABSTRACT
The objective of this study is to describe and analyze adverse drug events (ADE) identified using the Global trigger tool (GTT) in a Finnish tertiary hospital during 5-year period also evaluate whether medication module GTT useful for ADE detection management or if modification needed. A cross-sectional retrospective record review 450-bed Finland. Ten randomly selected patients from electronic medical records were reviewed bimonthly 2017 2021. team total 834 with modified method, which includes evaluation possible polypharmacy, National Early Warning Score (NEWS), highest nursing intensity raw score (NI), pain triggers. data set contained 366 triggers 601 polypharmacy that analyzed study. With GTT, 53 ADEs detected records, corresponds 13 ADEs/1000 patient-days 6% patients. Altogether, 44% had at least one found module. As number increased per patient, it was more likely patient experienced an ADE. patients' seems correlate risk ADEs. Modification could provide even reliable prevention.
