ABSTRACT
To evaluate the utility of a standardized qualitative scoring system for treatment response assessment at 18F-FDG PET-CT in patients undergoing chemoradiotherapy locally advanced cervical carcinoma and correlate this with subsequent patient outcome. Ninety-six consecutive treated radical (CRT) single centre between 2011 2014 underwent approximately 3 months post-treatment. Tumour metabolic was assessed qualitatively using 5-point scale ranging from background level activity only through to progressive disease. Clinical radiological (MRI pelvis) follow-up performed all patients. Progression-free (PFS) overall survival (OS) calculated Kaplan-Meier method (Mantel-Cox log-rank) correlated score Chi-squared test. Forty (41.7 %) demonstrated complete (CMR) on post-treatment (Score 1/2) 38 (95.0 remaining disease free after minimum period 18 months. Twenty-four (25.0 had indeterminate residual uptake (ID, Score 3) primary or nodal sites treatment, these eight (33.3 relapsed follow-up, including (n = 4Eleven11 17 (64.7 significant (partial response, PMR, 4) subsequently relapsed. In 15 (15.6 (PD, 5) following treatment. analysis showed highly statistically difference PFS OS CMR, uptake, PMR PD (Log-rank, P < 0.0001). test association increasing risk recurrence death (P 0.001). Use assess CRT predicts outcome prognostic information may help guide further management.
