ABSTRACT
Abstract Purpose FAPI ligands (fibroblast activation protein inhibitor), a novel class of radiotracers for PET/CT imaging, demonstrated in previous studies rapid and high tumor uptake. The purpose this study is the head-to-head intra-individual comparison 68 Ga-FAPI versus standard-of-care 18 F-FDG organ biodistribution uptake patients with various cancers. Material Methods This international retrospective multicenter analysis included data from 71 6 centers who underwent both within median time interval 10 days (range 1–89 days). Volumes interest (VOIs) were manually drawn normal organs lesions to quantify tracer by SUVmax SUVmean. Furthermore, tumor-to-background ratios (TBR) generated (SUVmax tumor/ organ). Results A total studied of, which 28 female 43 male (median age 60). In 41 patients, primary was present. Forty-three exhibited 162 metastatic lesions. tumors metastases comparable most cases. significantly lower than background tissues such as brain, oral mucosa, myocardium, blood pool, liver, pancreas, colon. Thus, TBRs higher some sites, including liver bone metastases. Conclusion Quantitative between F-FDG, but results equal or Ga-FAPI. may yield improved diagnostic information cancers especially locations physiological
