ABSTRACT
To evaluate the gender and racial diversity of plenary session speakers in annual meetings Society Abdominal Radiology (SAR) over 2016 to 2020.The brochures SAR were reviewed for titles. Publicly available institutional profiles social media by investigator order infer race. Gender assessments men, women, transgender women or non-binary. Race was classified as White, Black African American, American Indians Alaskan Natives, Asian, Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Multiracial. Statistical analysis performed using chi square T-tests.Based on self-reported data, has 64% male 36% female members. Over 2016-2020, more likely be men [69.6% (183/263)] than [30.4% (80/263)] (p-value = 0.0007). No could reliably identified transgender, non-binary expansive. In 2016, there 24% speakers. This proportion 28% 2017, 33% 2018 2019, 30% 2020. When assessing distribution, white accounted majority speakers, ranging from 61 78%. Asians 22 35%. There no Indian & Native, (0%). Multiracial represented 2020, accounting 2-4% < 0.0001).Plenary at Annual Meetings 2016-2020 but with presenters increasing time. White followed Asians. Americans.
