ABSTRACT
Irreversible electroporation (IRE) is a novel image-guided ablation technique that rapidly gaining popularity in the treatment of malignant tumors located near large vessels or bile ducts. The presence metal objects zone, such as Wallstents, generally considered contraindication for IRE, because tissue heating due to power conduction may lead thermal complications. This report describes 66-year-old female with Bismuth–Corlette stage IV unresectable cholangiocarcinoma metallic Wallstent common duct, who was safely treated percutaneous IRE no signs relapse 1 year after procedure.
