ABSTRACT
Abstract Purpose Mechanical thrombectomy for the treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is being increasingly utilized to reduce symptoms and prevent postthrombotic syndrome (PTS), but more data on clinical outcomes are needed. was studied in ClotTriever Outcomes (CLOUT) registry with 6-month full analysis reported herein. Materials Methods The CLOUT a prospective, all-comer study that enrolled 500 lower extremity DVT patients across 43 US sites treated mechanical using System. Core-lab assessed Marder scores physician-assessed venous patency by duplex ultrasound, PTS assessment Villalta score, symptom severity, pain, quality life through 6 months were analyzed. Adverse events identified independently adjudicated. Results All-cause mortality at 30 days 0.9%, 8.6% subjects experienced serious adverse event (SAE) within first days, 1 which (0.2%) device related. SAE rethrombosis/residual thrombus incidence 4.8% 8.0% months. Between baseline months, flow increased from 27.2% 92.5% limbs ( P < 0.0001), compressibility improved 28.0% 91.8% while median 9.0 1.0 0.0001). Significant improvements also demonstrated. iliofemoral isolated femoral-popliteal segments showed similar improvements. Conclusion study, large prospective DVT, indicate safe demonstrates significant improvement health status Level Evidence 3: Non-randomized controlled cohort/follow-up study.
