ABSTRACT
Abstract Key message The activation of the antioxidant system under stress combination is a transmissible trait from rootstock to scion. Therefore, selection key improve crop performance and sustainable production changing climate conditions. Climate change altering weather conditions such as mean temperatures precipitation patterns. Rising temperatures, especially in certain regions, accelerates soil water depletion increases drought risk, which affects agriculture yield. Previously, our research demonstrated that citrus Carrizo citrange ( Citrus sinensis × Poncirus trifoliata ) more tolerant than Cleopatra mandarin C. reshni heat combination, part, due higher alleviated damage produced by oxidative stress. Here, using reciprocal grafts both genotypes, we studied importance on scion response this combination. rootstock, positively influenced reducing H 2 O accumulation, increasing superoxide dismutase (SOD) ascorbate peroxidase (APX) enzymatic activities inducing SOD1, APX2 catalase (CAT) protein accumulations. On contrary, induced decreases expression, CAT activity contents Taken together, findings indicate highlight maintain yield current scenario change.
