ABSTRACT
We have investigated the dependence of lock-in-demodulated $$M_x$$ -magnetometer signals on orientation static magnetic field $$\mathbf {B}_{0}$$ interest. Magnetic resonance spectra for 2400 discrete orientations covering a $$4\pi$$ solid angle been recorded by PC-controlled steering and data acquisition system. Off-line fits previously derived lineshape functions allow us to extract relevant parameters (shape, amplitude, width, phase) represent their with respect laser beam propagation direction. performed this study two distinct configurations, in which rf-field is either parallel or perpendicular light The results confirm well algebraic theoretical model functions. suggest that small discrepancies are related hitherto uninvestigated atomic alignment contributions.
