ABSTRACT
We studied effects of diet-induced postmenopausal weight loss on gene expression and activity proteins involved in lipogenesis lipolysis adipose tissue. Fifty-eight women with overweight (BMI 32.5 ± 5.5) were randomized to eat an ad libitum Paleolithic-type diet (PD) aiming for a high intake protein unsaturated fatty acids or prudent control (CD) 24 months. Anthropometry, plasma adipokines, fat metabolism subcutaneous tissue (SAT) lipoprotein lipase (LPL) mass SAT measured at baseline after 6 LPL also The PD led improved insulin sensitivity (P < 0.01) decreased circulating triglycerides 0.001), lipogenesis-related factors, including mRNA 0.05), 0.01), 0.001); as well expressions CD36 acid synthase, FAS 0.001) diglyceride acyltransferase 2, DGAT2 0.001). 0.05) significantly lowered the group versus CD months remained compared Compared CD, more pronounced reduction lipogenesis-promoting factors among overweight. This could have mediated favorable metabolic triglyceride levels sensitivity.
