ABSTRACT
Abstract Actinic keratoses (AKs) are common dysplastic lesions resulting from chronic excessive ultraviolet exposure. Neither the clinical grade of thickness nor histological dysplasia seems valid predictors aggressive potential AKs. Instead, mutational status in AKs appears to predict well course. TP53 gene mutations result a non-functional protein resistant degradation, thus immunohistochemical staining for p53 can suggest mutation status. Increased was associated with progression AK squamous cell carcinoma. To investigate how intensity (p53 index) varies according body site, subtype and Secondly, we sought distribution epidermal layers (zonal patterns). index greater than 50% 90.7% significantly higher older age ( p < 0.0093) facial compared other areas = 0.03). All AKs, independently their appearance, should be treated but special attention is required on severely photodamaged skin face patients.
