ABSTRACT
Abstract Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) have recently been reported as an important factor in tumor growth and the progression of cancer. The prognostic significance localizations densities TAMs triple negative cancer (TNC) breast is not well understood. aim this study was to assess subtype TNC examine their clinicopathological features. based on 107 cases operated at Dokkyo Medical University Hospital using pan-macrophage marker CD68 M2 macrophage CD163 stroma (TS) nest (TN), respectively, examined significance. Multivariate Cox regression analyses revealed that age CD163+ both TS TN were independent factors for relapse-free survival overall survival. No correlation found between number CD68+ cells or CD163/CD68 ratio either TN, Our infiltration TAMs, rather than CD68+, associated with poor prognosis patients by multivariate analysis. This suggests may affect only regulating immune reaction TS, but also because direct influence TN.
