Importance of interdisciplinarity in modern oncology: results of a national intergroup survey of the Young Oncologists United (YOU)

ABSTRACT
Modern, personalized treatment concepts in oncology require an interdisciplinary and multiprofessional collaboration. In addition to its relevance patient care, collaboration is also becoming increasingly important clinical research as well medical education resident training oncology.Between November 2021 March 2022, online survey was conducted among German early career groups, represented by Young Oncologists United (YOU). The aim identify the status need for interdisciplinarity at clinic, educational, levels.A total of 294 participants completed questionnaire full. 90.7% respondents fully or predominantly agreed with statement that work plays a major role their daily work. 78.9% wished more Of 49.7% who have never participated project, 80.1% said they would like participate such study project future. Lack time resources, too much organizational effort, possible political conflicts between institutions were identified factors make practical implementation difficult. 74.1% declared willingness become active group.Interdisciplinary has oncology. Networks span different disciplines could help promote projects young scientists improve exchange professional practice implication improved care.
