ABSTRACT
Sacral neuromodulation (SNM) is a widely accepted treatment for pelvic floor disorders, including constipation and fecal incontinence (FI). In 2017, standardized electrode placement method, the H technique, was introduced to minimize failure rates improve clinical outcomes. We aimed investigate technical feasibility functional outcome of procedure. In this prospective study, we evaluated first 50 patients who underwent SNM according technique between 2017 2020 at tertiary care hospital. Patient demographic data were collected, impact various factors on patients' postoperative quality life (QoL) assessed after follow-up 40 months. Functional monitored prospectively using questionnaire.Of patients, 36 (72%) reported greater than 50% symptom relief received permanent implant (95% CI: 58.3-82.5). observed 75% success in relieving FI 58.9-86.3) 64% 38.8-83.7). Complication occurred five (10%) patients. Preoperative vs. physical psychological QoL, Vaizey score, obstructed defecation syndrome (ODS) scores revealed significant improvements (all p < 0.01). Male gender significantly associated with complications (p = 0.035).We provide evidence efficacy implantation technique. The medium-term results are promising constipation. those BMI > 25 more prone perioperative complications.
