ABSTRACT
The treatment summary (TS) remains underused in head and neck cancer (HNC). We determine if receiving a personalized TS following definitive HNC improves patient recall of details. A history questionnaire was administered to assess accuracy reporting diagnosis treatment-related details at baseline (pre-TS) 1-month follow-up (post-TS). Statistical significance changes assessed using McNemar's chi squared test. One hundred participants were enrolled between January December 2022. Ninety-one completed all surveys. Significant improvement correct responses noted for questions regarding type (94.5% post-TS, 78.0% pre-TS, p = 0.002), date (75.8% 40.7% < 0.001), T-stage (82.4% 28.6% lymph node status (91.2% 63.7% 0.001). may improve survivors' about their the short term. Patients view as beneficial survivorship care plans. plans are understudied patients. This investigation will serve meaningful contribution literature, promote additional investigation, encourage informative resources available survivors.
