ABSTRACT
Abstract Lithium metal is a promising anode material for the development of advanced all-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) with high energy density. Among various solid electrolytes, lithium phosphorus oxynitride glass electrolyte (LiPON) notable facilitating stable Li plating-stripping reactions in ASSBs employing metal. The aim this study to examine Li/LiPON interface, specific emphasis on reductive decomposition LiPON near interface. We employed time-of-flight elastic recoil detection analysis (TOF-ERDA) assess changes concentration around Cu/LiPON interface immediately prior plating reaction. Our electrochemical measurements indicate that critical occurs when voltage at Cu electrode reduced 0.1 V vs. Li/Li + 25 °C, resulting situ formation 3 P operating 0.7 as an material. TOF-ERDA findings reveal reaction results layer partial (ranging from 5 25% average) extending up approximately 30 nm This insight vital enhancing design and performance ASSBs. Graphical abstract
