ABSTRACT
Abstract Objectives Connective tissue-associated interstitial lung diseases (CTD-ILD) are believed to be caused by microvascular damage. The objective of this study was assess the nailfold capillaroscopy (NFC) pattern in patients diagnosed with both CTD-ILD and non-CTD-ILD identify changes determine relation between capillaroscopic parameters, clinical variables, disease-related measurements. Patients methods This cross-sectional included 95 disease who applied our Rheumatology Chest Clinics September 2021 July 2023. were divided into two groups based on their diagnosis: (group 1) 2). Nailfold performed. Results Ninety-five patients, 49 (51% female, mean age 62.31 ± 11.027 years) group 1 46 (69.6% 62.09 10.887 2, study. Abnormal capillary morphologies detected groups. In a usual pneumonia (UIP) chest computed tomography (CT), tortuosity higher than non-specific (NSIP) ( P = 0.041 ), proportion increased significantly as duration 0.016 ). Conclusion Our highlights abnormalities alone may not sufficient differentiate (other systemic sclerosis) from non-CTD-ILD. presence NFC suggest that fibrotic could potentially play role deterioration structure or abnormal angiogenesis. demonstrated multidisciplinary approach, incorporating clinical, morphological, pathological, serological evaluations, is necessary for interpreting ILD. Key Points • Capillaroscopic can also seen Capillaroscopy findings do distinguish non-Ssc etiology have potential serve useful tool predicting prognosis monitoring progression idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
