ABSTRACT
We present an example of integration persistent scatterer interferometry (PSI) and in situ measurements over a landslide the Bovino hilltop town, Southern Italy. First, wide-area analysis PSI data, derived from legacy ERS ENVISAT SAR image time series, highlighted presence ongoing surface displacements known limits Pianello landslide, located at outskirts municipality, periods 1995–1999 2003–2008, respectively. This prompted local authorities to install borehole inclinometers on suitable locations. Ground data collected by these sensors during following years were then compared integrated with more recent series Sentinel-1 images, acquired March 2014 October 2016. The allows sketching consistent qualitative model spatial subsurface structure, leading coherent interpretation remotely sensed ground measurements. results possible thanks synergistic operation remote sensing specialists, could represent for best practices environmental management protection regional scale.
