ABSTRACT
Abstract WHOQOL-AGE is a promising quality of life (QOL) tool that has not been fully validated in Asia. The present study aimed to verify its factor structure and psychometric properties among community-dwelling older adults Singapore. This was cross-sectional used data ( N = 593) from the Community Health Intergenerational interviewed between 2018 2021. Confirmatory analysis (CFA) examine WHOQOL-AGE, Cronbach’s alpha coefficients were employed internal consistency. Spearman’s rho correlations other related scales (Satisfaction with Life Friendship) examined convergent validity. A Pearson’s correlation coefficient compassion scale discriminant An independent t test demonstrate known-groups validity, examining differences QOL scores individuals without chronic medical conditions. Findings supported bifactor model more satisfactory goodness-of-fit indices than original two-factor two-correlated model. showed adequate consistency (Cronbach’s > .70). Good validity demonstrated by moderate-to-large satisfaction r s .54) as well social connectedness .33). Discriminant shown low .19). also indicated good p < 0.01). using an Asian convenience sample can be useful large-scale studies or busy clinical settings.
