ABSTRACT
One of the largest families transcriptional regulators contains WRKY proteins. They play important roles in plant defense responses. In this study, a novel gene, CsWRKY2, was isolated from tea [Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze] plant. The full-length cDNA CsWRKY2 2 050 bp length and encoded 522-amino acid peptide chain containing two typical domains zinc finger motifs, suggesting that member group I family. A subcellular localization assay shows localized to nucleus. Real time qPCR analysis expression higher leaves than other organs induced by cold (4 °C), drought stress, exogenous abscisic (ABA). Additionally, ABA content enhanced after or stress effects were relieved an biosynthesis inhibitor. Furthermore, up-regulated under stresses down-regulated Our findings indicate played role responses participating signaling pathway, downstream ABA.
