ABSTRACT
Although evidence is building on the positive effects of physical activity for prostate cancer survivors, less known about possible independent sedentary behavior quality life and psychological well-being in this population. We determined extent to which objectively measured moderate-to-vigorous (MVPA) were independently associated with life, anxiety, depressive symptoms survivors. An exploratory cross-sectional analysis was undertaken baseline data from a multicenter, cluster randomized controlled trial efficacy clinician referral 12-week exercise program men who had completed active treatment cancer. Multiple regression analyses performed using 98 survivors wore hip-mounted accelerometers (time spent defined as <100 counts per minute [CPM]; MVPA >1,951 CPM) self-report instruments their symptoms. Results compared minimal clinically important differences scales.Independent behavior, increases between 15 33 min/day (but not statistically significant) improvements three scales (insomnia, diarrhea, financial difficulties). Independent MVPA, decreases 119 107 functioning role functioning, respectively.Within our study, modest more substantive several scales. Further research, including prospective studies, required understand across larger representative samples (in terms physical, psychological, social engagement activity) survivors.Australia New Zealand Clinical Trials Register (ANZCTR): ACTRN12610000609055.
