ABSTRACT
The Eryuan palynoflora from the Late Pliocene of western Yunnan, China is described in this paper, and compared with two contemporary palynofloras Yangyi Longling. palynological data three locations are analyzed to reconstruct climatic parameters these areas at that time by using Coexistence Approach. estimated, i.e., mean annual temperature ranged 13.3 18.6∘C, warmest month 24.6 27.5∘C, coldest 1.9 12.1∘C, difference temperatures 14.2 16.6∘C, precipitation 619.9 1484.3 mm, maximum monthly 143.8 245.6 minimum 12.7 16.4 mm. Both paleovegetation paleoclimate localities modern each location. present study suggests a MAT decrease accompanied doubling MAP Longling area between present. This seems be related uplift Gaoligong Mountain which now part eastern portion (Western Yunnan) Tibetan Plateau.
