ABSTRACT
Abstract Oryza punctata , a wild relative of cultivated rice, belongs to the BB genome . Interspecific hybrids (CW008, AB) between sativa (2 n = 24 AA) and O BB) were obtained using embryo rescue technique. Synthetic allopolyploid (DCW008, AABB) produced through chromosome doubling by colchicine. Hybrids overcame many traits except shattering awn. The synthetic amphiploid plants showed obvious superiority in growth production. CW008 completely infertile but DCW008 had better seed set after selfing. Genomic situ hybridization investigations performed on DCW008. result indicated that A was closed B translocations occurred some chromosomes rice. Meiosis nearly normal hybrid disrupted diploid hybrid, which resulted different fertility them.
