ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Our main objective was to present a multidisciplinary review on the epidemiology of sudden cardiac death (SCD) and tools that could be used identify malignant ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) perform risk stratification. In addition, indications contraindications for use implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) in general special populations including elderly patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are also given. Methods An expert group from Inter American Society Cardiology (IASC), through their HF Council (CIFACAH) Electrocardiology (ElectroSIAC), together Latin Heart Rhythm (LAHRS), reviewed discussed literature regarding appropriate an ICD people heart failure (HF) reduced ejection fraction (HFpEF).
