ABSTRACT
This study examined associations between school sector (Government, Catholic or Independent) and depressive symptomology over the secondary years. Six waves of data collected annually from a representative Australian sample were examined. Multilevel piecewise linear logistic regression controlling for variety demographic variables protective factors was undertaken. In all sectors, decreased 10 13 years age, but significantly increased girls at age 13. Adolescents in schools reported fewer symptoms depression compared to those Government Independent schools. less likely report clinical levels depressed mood adolescents
